This triptych examines the internment geographies of Japanese Americans in California during WWII. BLEACHED offers archival and modern aerial imagery (sorted in order of descending latitude) of internment locations. UPROOTED highlights the main paths of displacement between cities and internment locations across (and out of) the state. ERASED maps the dozens of former Japantowns vacated after the war due to the dispossession of property and citizenship.
